THIS REPORT FOCUSES ON THE MEASURE SHOWN IN THE SLIDE TO COMPARE STUDENT GROUPS BY PARTICIPATION, PERFORMANCE AND CLIMATE INDICATORS. THE TABLE SHOWN DISPLAYS EACH MEASURE AND THE GAP INDICATOR DESCRIPTION USED TO IDENTIFY PERSISTENT AND WIDENING GAPS. NEXT SLIDE PLEASE. THERE'S NO SILVER BULLET IF YOU WILL, OF THE TIMES THE ROOT CAUSE OF STUDENTS WHO ARE STRUGGLING TO ATTEND SCHOOL CONSISTENTLY IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND SO THAT THAT CAN VARY WIDELY IN TERMS OF THE NEEDS OF STUDENTS. WE ASK THE LOCAL POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT TO PARTICIPATE AND THEY HAVE GIVEN AWAY SAFETY KITS, PROVIDE FIRE TRUCK TOURS AND CHATTED WITH FAMILIES. AND EVEN LAST YEAR DR. TWO TEENAGERS WERE ARRESTED WITH A GUN FOUND IN THEIR BOOK BAG RANDALLSTOWN HIGH SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY ANOTHER TEAM WAS ARRESTED, ANOTHER A GUN FOUND IN THEIR SCHOOL BAG IN SEPTEMBER THE BALTIMORE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD LOOKS FOR NEW LEADERS BECAUSE THEY'RE HAVING BUS PROBLEMS. WOODLAWN HIGH SCHOOL ON SEPTEMBER 20TH WOODLAWN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT IS IN CUSTODY AFTER AN ALTERCATION WITH THE POLICE AND THAT WAS CAUGHT ON VIDEO. THAT WAS SEPTEMBER 20TH ON THE 20TH AGAIN THIS POLICE UNION CHIEF CONCERNED ABOUT STUDENTS HAVE AN EASY ACCESS TO FIREARMS. THE TWENTY EIGHTH ONE JUVENILE WAS ARRESTED AT PERIO HIGH SCHOOL ON SEPTEMBER TWENTY EIGHTH STRUCKER MIDDLE SCHOOL A CHILD WAS CAUGHT AND THERE WAS AN ARTICLE IN THE DUNDALK EAGLE ABOUT A CHILD TASING GIRLS AND TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM IN THE BATHROOM. ANOTHER INCIDENT, PERRY HALL, A GIRL WAS SURROUNDED AND THERE WAS A MAJOR INCIDENT HAPPENED THERE. ANOTHER INCIDENT AT PERRY HALL HAPPENED LAST WEEK.

DARYL WILLIAMS AND AT THAT FAIR I WAS I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY OF CONNECTING WITH SEVERAL PRINCIPALS PRIMARILY PRINCIPAL BRANDON GLAZER OF DEER PARK MAGNET MIDDLE SCHOOL. THAT WAS AN AMAZING EVENT. THERE WERE SO MANY SCHOOLS THERE I HAD NEVER BEEN TO ANYTHING LIKE THAT. I HEARD ABOUT IT. I CAME OUT AND WOULDN'T YOU KNOW I CAME TO LOOK FOR THE PRINCIPAL OF DEER PARK AND WHO SAID BACI ME THAT DAY. BUT THE PRINCIPAL SO I THINK IT WAS DIVINE CONNECTION FROM THAT ACTIVE WE PARTICIPATED IN THE DEER PARK MIDDLE MAGNET BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT. WE DISTRIBUTED SCHOOL SUPPLIES POCKET GAMES AND POPSICLES TO THE PARENTS AND THE STUDENTS WHO ATTENDED THAT EVENT. OUR MINISTRY ALSO SUPPORTED THE BACK A SCHOOL EVENT SPONSORED BY THE NORTHWEST ACADEMY OF HEALTH SCIENCES. WE CONTINUED OUR SUPPORT OF THE STUDENTS AND THE PARENTS IN THE AREA BY DISTRICT DISTRIBUTING SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND TREATS TO THE ATTENDEES.DREAM WIFE WORSHIP CENTER IS DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING FAMILIES IN THE NORTH WEST BALTIMORE CORRIDOR. WE SPONSOR A MONTHLY FOOD GIVEAWAY AND COLLABORATION WITH THE MARYLAND FOOD BANK. I'M HERE TONIGHT TO ASK YOU FOR YOUR HELP TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS AND OUR TEACHERS AFTER DELVING INTO THIS ISSUE FURTHER, I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THERE ARE REPORTS OF ASSAULTS ALMOST DAILY AND SOCIAL MEDIA IS FULL OF VIDEOS OF FIGHTING WITHIN BALTIMORE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO GAIN MORE CLARITY OF THE ESCALATING VIOLENCE IN THE SCHOOLS. I REACHED OUT TO OUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TO UNDERSTAND HOW THESE INCIDENTS ARE BEING HANDLED. TO MY SURPRISE I WAS TOLD BY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE SAROS DOCUMENT THESE ATTACKS AND THEY WOULD RATHER HANDLE THEM WITHIN THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION WHETHER AN ASSAULT HAPPENS ON CAMPUS OR OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL, AN ASSAULT IS STILL AN ASSAULT. OUR SCHOOLS ARE DEVOLVING INTO A CULTURE OF REPEATED VIOLENCE WHICH IS NOT CONDUCIVE TO A QUALITY EDUCATION AND THERE NEEDS TO BE ACCOUNTABILITY.

I KNOW THAT DISCIPLINE AND RESPECT SHOULD BE TAUGHT WITHIN THE HOME FIRST. BUT WHILE CHILDREN ARE IN YOUR CARE IN SCHOOL BUILDINGS, ON SCHOOL BUSSES THEY SHOULD BE SAFE.
