On May 2, 2023, the Board of Education of Baltimore County (Board) received for consideration a report from the Central and Northeast Area Middle School Boundary Study Committee recommending boundary changes to middle schools in the Northeast and Central region to establish an attendance area for the new Northeast Area middle school and expand the attendance area for Pine Grove Middle School and its addition. The recommendation, known as “Option E,” affects the boundaries of Cockeysville, Dumbarton, Golden Ring, Loch Raven Technical Academy, Middle River, Parkville, Perry Hall, Ridgely, and Stemmers Run middle schools. The Board’s public hearing on the recommended boundary change was held on May 17, 2023, at Parkville High School.
On June 13, 2023, the Board postponed the vote on the boundary until an impact analysis could be provided on the proposed changes of moving students who attend Halstead Academy to Dumbarton Middle School instead of Loch Raven Technical Academy.
The Mayes-Burton Barn at Hereford High School serves as a source of pride to the rural and agricultural heritage for both the community and the school. Preservation of the barn will not only boost both community and school pride, but also provides an opportunity to expand beyond the barns physical attributes and delve deeper into the area's rural heritage. Part of this project includes compiling photographic and written histories of the barn to create a diverse historical record which will be shared with both the school and community at large.
Limited renovation to the Mayes-Burton historic barn at Hereford High School will include the removal and replacement of the existing metal roof, gutter, and downspout system. Repairs to be made to the structural members to increase stability. Removal of existing metal siding and the repair, replacement, or encapsulation to the existing wood siding with new wood siding will be completed.
Through its partnership with the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), BCPS can examine the readiness for college coursework of BCPS graduates. As part of an MOU between BCPS and CCBC, CCBC provides student-level enrollment and post-secondary outcome data to BCPS. The current data feed from CCBC included 8,401 unique BCPS graduates from the 2017–2018 school year through the 2020–2021 school year. The BCPS Graduates College and Career Readiness for Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC): Class of 2018 through Class of 2021 Data Report and corresponding presentation provide information on CCBC matriculation, enrollment in credit-bearing CCBC courses, identification rates for students needing at least one CCBC non-credit bearing Developmental Course based on CCBC Course Placement Criteria, cumulative mean CCBC GPA, and overall CCBC credits earned, credits attempted, and credit completion rates by race/ethnicity, receipt of special service, and gender.

To support the Board of Education, Policy 5210 requires an annual update on the implementation of the Grading and Reporting Policy. Annually, a workgroup meets to discuss feedback on implementation to inform revisions to the Grading and Reporting Procedures Manual. The revised manual is provided with revisions highlighted for ease of review.
The manual can also be found on the BCPS Web site under the Division of Curriculum and Instruction.
